I came across this infographic on Twitter and really liked its ideas. (The full article can be found here). Sometimes, we get so focused on the day to day changes in education - integrating technology into our specific lessons, mastering the new Common Core Standards, getting students to understand a math concept, etc. - that we forget to step back and look at the big picture that drives the small changes in our daily instructional decisions. I agree with all of these and think it's a good reminder of the exciting educational shifts we, as educators, are a part of.
I really like this visual. Thank you for sharing. :)

DeleteThis truly is a great graphic that reflects the profound shifts in education right now. The one I find most interesting is the tension between privacy and transparency. For so long we've been so concerned about protecting our students' privacy when using online platforms, but social media is shifting this mindset quickly. I think the next few years will be very interesting in this regard.
ReplyDeleteI agree. It's an interesting topic - it's going to be increasingly tough to maintain a balance between privacy and public sharing. Digital citizenship and teaching kids about what's appropriate to share will be a big part.
